With this program, you can load your Cricut cartridges (not included), and mix and match the designs from all of your cartridges to make truly unique designs. Features: On screen cutting mat with measuring grid, pop-down menu bar, cartridge selection window which lists your cartridges, your favorites, and allows you to search using keywords, an automatic interactive keyboard overlay window for the cartridge you are currently working from, tool kits, sizing buttons, and a help menu. You can mix, resize, reverse, rotate, compress, stretch, and slant any images from your Cricut cartridges. System requirements: Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista 32-bit, 800MHz Processor speed, 512MB RAM, 100MB free hard disk space, CD/DVD drive, 1.1 USB port, 1024×768 or higher display. Included: CD, 10ft. USB cable, and a bonus Cricut mouse pad. Software can be used for your original Cricut, or Cricut Expression machine and Cricut cartridges.

2 Stars misleading
I bought this software on the internet. I only own 5 cricut cartriges, and was interested in the ‘welding’ option that you can use when working with fonts. After many attempts at installation and updating, and 2 calls to the cricut hotline I finally installed the program and began using it. I found that the characters, while you can weld them together on your screen are still cut apart when you send the design to the cricut to cut. I am very dissapointed in this software as well as in the instruction manual and the sarcastic customer service reps. while I love my machine and the cartriges, I do not feel that I am gaining any special or very useable features with this software.

This is a MUST HAVE to go with your Cricut. This significantly increases your options with any cartridge. You can place one object inside of another or weld them together so you can design a verse that is all one piece of paper that you can use over and over as well as email it to others to use. You lay your design out on a grid so you know exactly where it is going to cut. Because you can only load the program onto one computer, I put it on my laptop that I keep next to my Cricut Expression as well as a printer and all of my other stamping and paper supplies and can take it along to scrap booking retreats.

You need to be a smart consumer, know that PC is not going to sell all of thier images for 70$ Those who feel ripped off should learn to read better. It says it allows it not that you can cut everything! Learn about the cricut and cartridges first don’t jump on the band wagon and get all pissy that you didn’t understand! GEEEZ people!

Design Studio is a “must have” unless you are content just cutting out shapes. DS allows you to weld shapes together and create custom cards, and hundreds of other projects. There is an army of people on the chat at cricut.com that can help with any problem 24/7. Read through the community topics before buying and I bet you will buy it faster!
