5 Stars Excellent resource
I am in the process of beginning a professional business in the quilting industry. This book is an excellent resource which I plan to keep around as a reference for a long tim. It is well organized, well written, and professional … and the author stresses the need for a high-quality work product and professional demeanor for all those considering a business in quilting. Halleleujah! I am weary of purchasing books, patterns, and products with mediocre to shoddy quality (poor writing, poor directions, poor workmanship respectively). These sub-standard offerings have been marketed at high prices! Hopefully, Ms. Landman’s advice will affect enough people in the industry that poor quality offerings will no longer be tolerated but will be crowded out by high-quality, professional excellence.
5 Stars Quilters receive all these financial basics
Plenty of books covers the basics on making quilts, but too few cover how to market a quilt to turn a quilting hobby into a real business. Quilters receive all these financial basics in Make Money Quilting, from creating designs that sell to marketing and promoting quilts and selling either retail or wholesale. While some chapters are more general to small business practices, most are specific to quilting, which makes for a much more valuable guide.
